The making of a Canon 500mm F4L IS Lens
« on: May 26, 2010, 09:34:07 pm »

dont know if this has been posted here before (so apologies if it has) - but I came across three very interesting videos that show the construction process of the Canon 500m F4L lens from raw materials to finished lens. Its interesting viewing - gives a good insight into how much attention to detail is required to produce these kind of optics.

Wow--absolutely fascinating!

Love the dude pressing EF 500/4 IS lenses by hand!

Thanks for this, Josh--I hadn't seen it before.

sweet set of videos. When they put it together it looked to me like the 70-200mm with an attached couple lenses to the front. Funny how the barrel looks so similar =)
