Maybe the proposed 35mm Flektogon will rear it's head again?

Wow.  As you know Eric, this was my favorite MF camera.

I can't help but be impressed these guys are putting up the good fight.

Schneider lenses?

Interestingly, there is no mention of Schneider in any of their lens announcements.  Their prior announcement of the 120 M-Apogon even says that lens is "being delivered by Carl Zeiss".

yes

They only talk about a 120 and a 150mm lens - why do you hope for the 35mm?

The 35mm IIRC was a Jenoptik project, not an F&H one...

How much wider is the 35 than the 40? The 40 is done, with us, compact and sharp. Anyone got a 35 mm equivalent?

Would it be a good use of (limited) resources for the extra 5 mm?

The image of the 2 lenses is a fake! This is even worse than the stuff that comes up on those rumor sites. I bet it will take some time until the lenses will be available.

It's not just that it's a bit wider - it's about addressing the limits of the whole system and the potential for growth. (A 35mm lens which can cover a 645 sensor is as wide as a 30mm lens on a standard 48x36mm sensor or a 28mm lens on a 44x33mm sensor).

Personally, I've never cared for autofocus. Wide angle lenses really don't need it either.

The Hy6 has a very good viewfinder - no problems focussing so far...

The focus confirmation is just dead on. Amazingly accurate. Eliminates need for AF lenses except for when you want them for other reasons.
