February in the Smokies
« on: February 25, 2004, 09:42:30 pm »

Mathew,
Thanks for posting.  Those are very nice, much nicer than I would have thought for February in the Smokies.  No snow, huh?  The one that caught my eye was "Tree and Hill."  Congratulations on some very pleasing images.

Awesome shots. I wish I could make February look this good! Hoping to get there this spring.

Here are some pictures from the smokies last weekend.  Not crowded at all, lots of deer (bucks still sporting antlers), ice and snow at the higher elevations, and the frogs coming out to spawn.  Spring will begin in the valley soon -- I can't wait to get back.  I feel so lucky to be a 5 hour drive from this place.

Glad you liked them.  There was some snow on top but the pics with snow and ice didn't make my cut.  I got a bunch of snow pics from the area in December though.
