Hand-held color meter recommendations
« on: May 18, 2010, 03:45:52 am »

I've been thinking about getting a hand-held color meter, like the Sekonic C-500R, or the SeaChanger ColorBug device, which can transmit the data to an i-Pod or i-Phone and was hoping to find some advice and recommendations on these forums.

The C-500R apparently does remote flash triggering, presumably to correctly calculate the color temperature when a flash is used with the surrounding ambient light.

Unfortunately, my search didn't reveal anything about these two products except this one post http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....amp;hl=colorbug

Is analyzing the white balance with a Lally Cap or Expo Disc, really the best way to go? Do they provide fairly accurate results when a flash is used?
