Aperture 3 can't import .sti files
« on: May 16, 2010, 03:56:30 pm »

I want to import all my images to Aperture's 3 catalogs management system.

While Aperture can import Leaf's .mos files, it doesn't recognize and can't import Sinar's .sti files, which I shot with both Sinar 54M and 54 multi shoot.

Since CaptureShop can't help, I think to install eXposure to convert .sti to .dng. But eXposure will convert 54H multi shoot images as single shoot images, and all important information will be lost.
Do you know how to add .sti single and multi shoot images to Aperture 3?

Thanks

16-bit TIFF?

Hi Yair,

Tiff is Ok, but I want to store raw files in library, too.

Currently, the only reasonable option, I know is 16-bit Tiff.

I don't really understand why you would need to keep the raw uninterpolated multishot versions of the raws. Aren't they just raws like they are when you convert them to dng? You are not throwing any information away are you? What adjustments can you do with the multishot raw that you can't do to the dng version of it? Or is the issue that they can't be converted to dngs because they are multishot?

I prefer to store DNG in Aperture catalog, that's Ok.

But I think eXposure can't convert multi shoot 54H images to DNG, it reads such 54H images as single shoot...
