Food shots
« on: May 12, 2010, 12:14:19 pm »

I was sent to work to Mexico for a video series, I was asked to also take some photos of the food. This is my first time taking this type of photos, it was done at the end of the video shoot. What do you think?

First time taking food photos????  Wow, you have succeeded in what would take many years to learn.  Would love to know your lighting set up in #1.
Great job!

Given that the three hardest things to shoot are kids, animals and food, I'd say you did very well indeed. : )

Thanks Brian, this was hard for me since my job was really set up for the tv interviews; I only took two lights so I did lots of post in recreating shadows and highlights, I experimented with different approaches but I like the moodier ones.

Thanks.

Yes I enjoyed this side of mexican cuisine that it is difficult to find in L.A, is very different from tacos and enchiladas.

Yes Peter! In some shots my old Rebel was showing its limits. Thanks!

The test of a great food shot is whether it makes you hungry. These make me very hungry. But since I'm on a diet I think I should probably hate them.
