Hi,

This is an example of content aware fill:

[attachment=21788:Screen_s...36.24_PM.jpg]

Essential steps:

1) Created a path around the bush
2) Made the path into selection (feather 2 pixels)
3) Pressed delete and used "content aware fill"

Conclusion:

It works in this case. Some artifacts can be seen, but probably not obvious if you don't know what to look for. Your mileage may vary...

Best regards
Erik

Pretty good.  Of course your eye zooms right in to artifacts when you know they're there, but give it a week or two and even you notice them.

But branches against water are too easy.  Where's the girl on the rock at lower right?

I find the content aware healing brush to be more accurate for small selections as in the example image.

Have you tried seeing what happens if you apply content aware a second time selecting only areas with the artifacts?

FWIW, I find that using the content aware fill for a global correction then following up with the content aware healing brush to edit the artifacts left over from the fill works pretty darn well.
