and right now, with the problems of my nikon cool scan 9000ed, it's basically just a 35mm/slide scanner... if that is the case, why didn't I just get a 5000? Why, cause I shoot 645 and 6x6!

I need to call nikon, but I never have time when they are around.

Perhaps this is a good place to ask about a problem I am having with a nikon 9000 scanner with 6x17 negs which I am trying to scan in 2 or 3 sections.

I am using the glass neg carrier.  On one half of the image I get a great scan.  I then rotate the neg and leave all the settings the same and the second/top part of the neg scan comes out very different.
I have tried saving the first scan settings as a preset and reloading them: to no avail.  I did also try to scan without the mask, making a dummy sprocket for the scanner to read, which worked to make the scan but did not change the problem.  On other film the scanner does great....

Anyone have experience with this issue?  I can't figure out what is going awry and I really really want to scan the 6x17's and not use the old cranky drum scanner with OS9 on a g4 that may not start up......

Thanks!
