Defragging a RAID 0 set
« on: May 01, 2010, 11:41:07 am »

When I have the Windows 7 defrag utility analyze my RAID 0 boot drive it reports 0% fragmentation. Does this mean it can't be defragged? Doesn't need to be? Or do I need a special utility?

Thanks.

RAID should be transparent to the defragger. If it says there are no fragmented files, that's probably the case. If you have a fairly large partition that's less than half-full, I wouldn't find this particularly surprising.

That's the case, 20% used. Thanks for quick answer!
