This is an inspiration. Michael, thank you ever so much for bringing it to our attention. In a world that is so full of sorrow and distress, it is wonderful to see such goodness and hope, in this case inspired by photography. One wonders how many communities we have close to where any of us live which could benefit from projects similar to this one.

A great project, and I would like to hear how it progresses.

The only thing I have a problem with is the portrayal of South Africa as a poor country.
We are anything but! We're literally swimming in money and resources. There is more
than enough to house the population, provide healthcare, education and more. Problem
is it's being channelled elsewhere. We don't need help or handouts, we need someone
to kick our government's collective butt!

I didn't see that South Africa was portrayed as a poor country, but the blog did point to living conditions in the cited townships. That is not inconsistent with what you are saying. And that said, income distribution is a massive issue pretty well everywhere in the world, varying only by degrees. Photography has done much to articulate these aspects of the human condition, and let us hope will continue to do so and remind us of where improvement is so badly needed.
