1985 ... Jerusalem ... Tri-X ... printed on Seagull G3 fiber paper ... scanned with VueScan on a HP Photosmart C7180 flatbed ...

I always liked this one; I'm looking forward to getting a nice scan of the negative.

Very, very nice! A fresh perspective and use of silhouette... unrecognizable face in the shade and the position and shape of the hand... fantastic!

I agree with Slobodan, the image is intriguing. But the unusual take on a portrait also makes me examine the scene even more. Two things bother me: the first is the reflection coming off the map. The second is the tree on the right. Nevertheless it is so unusual that at first glance I overlooked these reservations. And now I still feel the intrigue in the image is sufficient to outweigh my reservations.

Jeremy, Good shooting. I'll go with Slobodan's evaluation. I don't agree with John. I think the flash of sunlight off the map adds to the immediacy of the photograph. As to the tree on the right, I like that a lot better than, say, somebody's SUV parked there. Actually the silhouette of the upthrusting tree balances the mass of the silhouetted face on the left. It's good geometry.

No disagreement with Slobodan here - just enough detail in the face to hint at more, like peeking at something before unwrapping.  Really well done.
