Mamiya 645 AFDIII Battery
« on: March 31, 2010, 08:28:25 pm »

Does anyone know of an alternative to using AA batteries in a Mamiya 645AFDIII?
I have some pretty good rechargeables but I go through 3 or 4 sets in a days fashion shoot.

There must be a better way.

Cheers

If you don't want to use the rechargeable type AA, you can get the lithium by energizer.  You should see quite a bit
of longer life, but the cost factor is considerable.

There are many brands/types of AA Nimh rechargeable batteries.  You may want to consider trying a few different
brands.  I have have had good results with the AFDIII with the Sanyo enloop batteries.  These batteries seem to hold a
charge well and discharge evenly.

The charger you use also makes a big difference.  Maha makes the one that I use.  It holds 8 cells.  It will allow for a
quick recharge, and 2 types of reconditioning charges.

Also make sure you have the custom function set on the camera that tells it you are using the AA rechargeable
batteries.

I was in the same problem. But since i took the Maha recharger and the Eneloop cells my life is better... Maha suggest you to run the conditioning recharge after 10 charges per cell... This will keep your batteries in good working and holding-charge condition
