printer roll stop on Hp 3200
« on: March 27, 2010, 09:24:40 pm »

this may be dumb question but I can't seem to get the blue paper stop out of the 17 paper roll from a HP 3200. Is there a lever you push? it seems tight and wont come out at all. This is the first time I am changing the roll.

thanks

Its the 3inch blue core adaptors that are stuck in the cardboard roll.

They are hard to remove. Once you get it out remove one of the metal springs (there are 2 in each end) and it will be much easier to use in the future.

I got my blue 3" adapters out by removing the spindle and using it to tap gently on the inside of the blue core.  After they pop out, remove at least one of the springs from each.  I've done this with my Z3100 almost 3 years ago with no problems.

I've never bothered removing the springs, which seems drastic to me. You get adept at knocking the cores out with the end of the spindle. It takes two shakes of a lamb's tail.

If I remember right, they have a bent edge that overlaps the blue plastic to hold them on.  I used a screwdriver to pry it up.  I still have my springs someplace in case I run into a roll of paper that fits too loosely, but that has never happened.
