Photoshop CS2 and Windows 7 64b
« on: March 27, 2010, 01:35:18 pm »

As I've reviewed various boards, I seem to get conflicting answers to this question. Some say sure, others are not so sure. I've tried to install my copy of PSCS2 and it hangs as it is downloading common files. I can get into PS but it is clearly not fully installed. Since I mostly use PS to softproof, obviously I'm going to wait until LR3 achieves final form. But if anyone has a definitive answer to whether I can, with proper care and a good headwind, install PSCS2 on my Win7 machine, it would be useful to know.

Cheers,

Marc

No. You won't be able to install CS2 on Win7,  the installer will barf on the default "C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe" location (*don't* try c:\program files\adobe - that's for 64bit apps *only*).

You *might* try installing in compatibility mode (XP SP3), but CS2 is just not supported on Win7 by Adobe.
