Searching for Sinar eMotion 54 cable
« on: March 15, 2010, 10:18:13 pm »

Ok. So I'm down to finding the last piece of the puzzle. Thanks to Dustbak, BJNY, ixpressraf  and all the others who have helped me figure this all out and passing along vital info. I still need to find the sync cable for my Eyelike M22. Dustbak tells me this cable is identical to  Sinar eMotion 54 back. Does anybody have one to sell or a tip to where I could find one. Thanks again, everybody.

Sinar should have one in stock. Have you contacted them?

A dealer told me that he could get one for me from Sinar, but I'll have to wait 2 to 3 weeks, I'm told. Oddly, BronUSA tech support was unsure that one would actually be available from Switzerland. So I guess I'm just looking for somebody to confirm that they have one available for sale. That, and I'm just impatient

Give John Popp at Dodd Camera a call ....   216-361-6805.   They stock probably the most Sinar of any dealer in the country.   I would be greatly surprised if they did not have one in stock.

Just go to a electronics workshop and have one made. Will cost you probably 50 euro but you will have one imediately.

Having one made is not a bad idea, ixpressraf. Thanks for the reference, bdp. Looks like what I need is the PC to LEMO 2 pole plug cable. Sinar # 551.64.070 - Trigger Cable Emotion.

Neither connector is something I would expect an average electronics shop to stock. You could buy a PC cable from a camera shop, and source the other specialised plug somewhere (LEMO FFA.00), and get a technician to chop off one PC plug and make up the cable (and I assume the outer connector at one end is connected to the outer connector at the other). Overall it might not be any faster than ordering from Sinar, and a lot more fuss, although it should be cheaper in the end.

With the help of you all, I have been able to locate the two cables I needed. They should be in my hands before the end of the week. I can't wait to shoot with this back!! If I had to wait another day, I honestly think I would have looked into having the cables built for me - that was a really great suggestion!
Anyway, thanks to you all as well as Tom from Urlacher(sp?) Photo in Hartford and to Mike & Ken from Dodd camera in Cleveland and Chicago.
