Where to buy photo equipment in Paris?
« on: March 14, 2010, 08:02:41 am »

Inspired in part by MR's many trips to Paris I thought it was about time that I took a trip myself to do some street shotting in Paris. Anyone know of good camera stores in Paris?

The most famous area in Paris, specially if you are into MF and LF is the Bastille district. Boulevard Beaumarchais.
There are many shops in the same street, you can find a lot of second-hand gear and really knowledgable people.
Here is a link to a web that embrace the shops in Beaumarchais: http://www.revoirfoto.com/pr/index.php?lg=&pg=4&c=3.

There are others of course, but I think that Beaumarchais boulevard is the first place to go if you do not know Paris well because shops are closed to each other, so you have a lot of choice in the same area. Practicle. (this is much more interesting if you are into MF or LF, that is what you have most and what they are famous for, but for other gear they are not bargains, prices here in Spain are significantly lower for consumer cameras)

Cheers,

Fred.
