I have been a forum lurker for a while and a newbie on posting so please excuse the question as I am expanding my knowledge in digital processing.
The wife surprised me for my birthday with the Complete Collection includes of all of Nik's Software (Dfine® 2.0, Viveza® 2, Color Efex Pro™ 3.0, Silver Efex Pro™, and Sharpener Pro™ 3.0)
Today I use Capture NX 2.4 for the raw conversion from my D300s and elements 8.0 with a 64 bit Windows 7 machine with 12 gb of DDR3 SDRAM on a i7-920 processor and a NEC LCD2690WUXi-SV
Two questions;
So now that I have this Nik collection, I guess Capture NX is now basically a RAW converter and some editing and I'am not even sure about Elements 8.0 once I load all of these Nik packages, ??
I know Elements 8.0 is compatible w 64 bit Win 7, but if I move to Lightroom or CS4 ( wife will kill me if I spent $600 + on CS4) will I improve over what I have today with this Nik package, Elements and Capture NX ?
