I wondering if any new DF owners have had any experience with this issue?
I just got my new DF system (with P30+) yesterday.
Here's the rundown regarding the AF on my DF which is not working.
The problem: it will NOT FOCUS AT ALL with the 45mm or the 75-120mm (the only lenses I've tested). When I press the shutter release, the AF goes through the entire range of focus. Infinity, then all the way back to zero. It doesn't even try to lock onto anything. This happens with the old batteries that came with the camera, and the new batteries I bought today (Energizer lithium ions) equally. So equally, that I couldn't really tell the difference. It doesn't seem to be a battery issue. I also tried dismounting and remounting both lenses. Didn't make any difference.
I guess that's all I can say now. I'm hoping it's just some obscure custom function set the wrong way.
Another bit I just discovered about the AF on my DF:
The focus indicators in the viewfinder are not indicating anything. The only thing that happens is both opposing arrows are lit all the time whether in AF or MF mode. It's as if the camera is unable to detect if something is in focus or not.
And this:
Another thing I've noticed...
This is something I'm seeing with the 75-150mm. I don't know if this is normal or not. I've never seen this in an AF camera before. Even though the camera will not focus, it does go through the whole range (infinity to zero). When the lens focus goes through the whole range, the zoom ring on the lens shifts by itself from a lower mm to a higher mm. So if the zoom lens is set to 75mm, when the camera is "trying" to focus, the zoom ring shifts from 75mm to about 80mm. If I half-press the shutter release again, it'll then go from about 80mm to 90mm. If I do it again, it'll go from about 90mm to 98mm, and so on until it ultimately gets to 150mm. I tried the same thing while in MF mode and it does the same thing. It's almost as if the lens were under lubricated. Weird. This is all very strange, unexpected, and highly inconvenient.
Any insight or ideas are much appreciated.
Thanks
