Scratched Sensor Cover glass
« on: March 06, 2010, 04:54:57 am »

Hello i have scratched my Aptus 75 sensor cover (or anti aliasing filter ?)
Guys be very careful apparently this is going to cost me in the region of
R14000 or a bit less than $2000 , like i can afford that at present.

It is a long scratch on the side of the sensor and can get away with it for
most pics but if there is detail required in that area and i am using a smaller
aperture this is going to be an issue.

Cheers

nice stuff !

considering the price, you must be aware that the Arca Swiss M line twi is much cheaper than the previous model... so the price for old model in second hand are falling...

Are you sure about that price ?
Please contact Leaf and get confirmation of the price, $2000.00 for the IR glass seems a bit steep.

When you have a good insurance this is covered by the way by the insurance, it happened to me once when someone changed my film back for the digital back, and I paid only my own risc, the rest was covered by the insurance.

Frank i have not got all the details yet but what i think they do because there is no service centre here in Africa is send a
replacement back , hence the extra cost.
If they send my DB to Europe while i wait it could take some time.

It cost about US$1500 including FEDEX shipping.
