wow...someone figured it out...since my valeo had a similar feature (via bluetooth) it does not surprise me that it comes from leaf...
that whole package sounds nice....but why not priced more aggressive? i can't see this stealing any H4-40 thunder.....

Paul, LC Remote has been out for several months now and it works with any Leaf Valeo, Aptus/ AFi files and backs. The App Store reports several thousands of downloads so far.

The Leaf Aptus II 7/DF camera bundle and the new Leaf Aptus II 8/DF camera bundle are about the same price as the HD4-40. Given that the pricing is similar, there are arguments that can be made for each of these three systems when comparing them, depending on the needs of the user.

I am encouraged by the LC Remote application for the iPhone as it is likely that it will appear for the iPad and functionality will continue to increase.

I don't know anything about a similar remote app for Phase One backs in the works, but it wouldn't surprise me to see a Leaf Remote App working with Capture One on an iPad at some point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the app just send the tethered shot to the iphone? Meaning if you shot tethered into C1 it would work with any camera supported by the program. Or am I missing something here?

There is an application on the host computer that facilitates the screen share. No file is actually sent to the iPhone. And the application on the iPhone has functionality itself. For example, it operates as a browser independent of the host application, and also provides a zooming function. More functionality is planned.

Actually it already works now (with Leaf backs), but you need to have Leaf Capture installed (doesn't need to run) and Capture One needs to be set so that your Capture Folder is the same one you have set in Leaf Capture.
The Leaf Remote Server pics up the images from that folder and send them to the iPhone/ iPod.

so for this to work, the back has to be tethered? i misunderstood then...i thought the images can be viewed without some sort of a computer "in between"....this sounds similar to what onone has for canon/nikon and iphone/itouch....

Yes, correct Paul. It's not a replacement for a computer, unfortunately. But it does offer some enhanced workflow when shooting tethered and more functionality will be coming.
