Winter Impression
« on: March 03, 2010, 09:31:36 am »

An impression of winter with the remains of autumn. I like it because of the shadows and because it reminds me of Spring! I hope Mike will be able to tell me the name of the flowers, which seem to remain on many winter lawns, and look spectacular when they are capped with snow.

The image looks lovely to me.
I especially like the structure of the shadows and how they contrast with the plants.
The only little issue I'd have is the violet/magenta color cast which looks a bit too strong to my eyes.
But thats subjectivism, of course.

Thanks for the comments and pointing out the magenta cast, which frankly, I did not notice until now. I do find it somewhat over the top, even though I usually don't mind colour casts. So I am reposting with a more neutral palette.

John, You've developed a style I always seem to be able to identify when It see one of your pictures. That's not easy to do. Congratulations. I do hope you're planning to enter some of your stuff in the Color magazine portfolio contest that's going on right now.
