Apologies to our hosts. Am interested in the other 'boards' visited by the members..
Yep I find myself online with a visit list of around 5 bookmarks, but none of them feel just right...

hoping that this group (and two others I'm posting this same mess to) will mention something other than the dozen or so that I've marked and zombied.

Accept no substitutes!

LuLa is the only fully organic, grass-fed, free-range, shade-grown photography site on the Web, providing 100% of your daily requirements of protein, vitamins, and information, with just a smidgeon of flame wars now and then to add a bit of spice.

Time spent looking for other websites is better spent staying right here, or perusing one of LuLa's many tutorials or DVDs. Or maybe even going out and making photographs!

Just my totally objective opinion. LuLa is the Cat's meow (but limited to one cat photo per year).

Hear, Hear!! Eric's right on the money with that opinion. On most other fora you'll find people who do brilliant things like list all their equipment so they can show you that "Mine* is bigger than yours.*"

I wholeheartedly agree with the last part, taking/making photographs! As for the rest... empires were lost and kingdoms dethroned because their view of the world got more and more myopic, ultimately limited to the inner clique surrounding the leader. Hence, as much as I like and value this site and hang out here daily (obviously!), here are a couple of others I visit often:

- The Online Photographer, by Mike Johnston

- Ken Rockwell (oh, heresy) for fun, an occasional pearl of wisdom, and to remind me not to take neither me, nor him, too seriously

- rangefindermag.com, online site of one of the best magazines published today (imho), which I happen to read for days and come back months later... contrast that with other magazines that I happen to still have subscriptions to (merely because they were like ten bucks for three years), which I use like paper tissues: skim through them once and into recycling bin they go (the likes of Popular Photography, and even Outdoor Photographer - a glossy advertorial)

Now, let the flaming begin!

I like the Strobist, David Hobby, because he emphasizes lighting in ways typically not covered here or TOP, see http://www.strobist.blogspot.com/

I have a list of sites I visit regularly here: http://www.wolfnowl.com/2009/12/photography-links/

Of course this site is at the top...

Mike.

P.S. If you want Lightroom specific information, over a hundred links are here: http://www.wolfnowl.com/2010/01/photograph...shop-lightroom/

thanks all for the suggestions, though what I meant by "board" was a site with interactive/inclusive/active viewers, aka members, for example LuLa (this place).
I can expand further, since it seems others are taking the hint that "working pros + business" phots need a private space (thread on this board)

I have found gearheads, pixelpopes, chemarus, fstop fitzgeralds all aplenty, but not THE place.

However, again thanks all for your answers.

I've had a look at all the above sites and am shocked to find NO cats or bunnies! You could try:

Aw, shucks! You caught me!

Cut Overload is the only serious (?) photo website besides LuLa that I visit every day. Of course, if LuLa had forum threads for pocket pets, cats, hamsters, pot-bellied pigs, etc. --- all with the CO's style of serious captions, of course --- then I wouldn't need to go anywhere else.

David, Maybe none of those guys has a Leica M9. You need an M9 to shoot cats and bunnies.

If you shoot/used to shoot/may shoot film, look at this site: http://www.apug.org/forums/home.php Very interesting info and people;none of the "mine is bigger than yours" stuff. One of the things that it has in common with LuLa, is that the people are friendly and helpful.
