Capture One and Snow Leopard
« on: February 23, 2010, 09:35:55 am »

Hi!

I am upgrading a new machine to Snow Leopard and have been on 4.8.3 quite successfully.  I still have 3.7.x and go to it for back up once a in a while, i must say rarely if ever.

Does 3.7 still work on Snow Leopard?  I know it won't tether 35mm but rarely shoot 35mm.

Is 5.0 stable on snow leopard?  I am thinking about installing 5.1 and start using it ASAP.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Jump on it. 5.1 works fine on Snow Leopard been beta testing it now for a couple weeks. Very stable and a lot more powerful tools and such since 4.8.3.

This may help

3.7 works as long as you don't process jpegs.... they come out green.  Tiffs seem fine.  But Guy is right... Go for 5.1 its a really nice step up and has a much cleaner workflow from 4.8.3.

You should follow this uninstall guide Doug has created but bottom line you want to wipe your mac clean of 4.8.3 and stuff is in about 5 different places or more so look around.

http://www.captureintegration.com/2008/11/...e-one-4-on-mac/

I even go this far and really wipe the system and since you are doing a upgrade here in a completely new version. I would recommend doing this bottom section

[User] > Library > Application Support > Capture One
[User] > Library > Preferences > com.phaseone.[anything]
[User] > Pictures > Capture One Default Session
[User] > Pictures > Capture One Library
[HD] > System > Library > Application Support > Capture One
