Blurb comes up every so often on here, so I figured folks might be interested in a
new blog entry I just finished putting together. Back when I did my Antarctica Blurb book I wanted a way to automate the creation of the image pages in the book. It turns out that with Lightroom, an inexpensive Lightroom plug-in, and the Data Merge feature in InDesign this is totally possible (and very, very, handy).
For folks used to doing mail merge in programs like Microsoft Word this probably seems like old hat, but it took me a while to figure out how to get the metadata out of Lightroom, and how to let InDesign know about the image files.
