Canon 9500II and matte paper
« on: February 09, 2010, 08:44:51 pm »

Hey everyone,

I'm struggling with my new Canon 9500 Mark II while printing portfolio on Moab Lasal matte paper.

My prints are hazy and milky with clogged up shadows no matter what profile I use. To get any decent blacks I need to apply a drastic curve adjustment.

PS CS4, Mac 10.6, calibrated w/ datacolor spyder3

I just checked my ink levels and it seems like the printer is not using any matte black ink at all. The Photo black is almost empty, though.
The driver is set to "Matte Photo Paper" and I'm using Moab's profile
from their site.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Chris
