P45 and Hasselblad Flexbody
« on: February 06, 2010, 03:24:06 pm »

Hi,

I know there are quite a few users here use Phase backs on Hassie Flexbody. I have a questions about the stray light mask. Do you remove it when you mount your Phase back on Flexbody?

According to the users manual, this mask is to prevent the stray light degrading imaging quality when applying large rise/fall and tilt movement. For some reason, I can not mount my P45 with the stray light mask left on the back standard. I can mount my P45 with ease after remove the mask, but I am not sure it is the right thing to do.

What is your experience?

Many thanks!

Keep it with film, take it off with your DB
I don't think it's possible to use a Phase back with the stray mask, better take it off.  When I had a Flexbody I used a P25.

Tom,

Did you recall any light leak issue without this mask under heavy movements with the 40mm or 50mm lens?

Thanks a lot!!

No, not with digital, at least not with the 50, 60 80, 120 I used with the Flexbody.
But I had them on film, all around between 2 frames on the borders, but not inside the picture.
As the sensor is smaller, i don't think you will have any.
