Snow Leopard, Epson R2400 Drivers
« on: February 06, 2010, 12:14:54 pm »

I have been waiting for R2400 drivers to upgrade to Snow Leopard from Tiger. Has anyone used the currently provided drivers? Mac site lists Gutenprint v 5.2.3 and the Epson site has Printer Driver v6.57 (epson13113.dmg) plus "Common Updater" epson13044.dmg, with the possibility of having to install Rosetta as well. I have gathered that the Mac provided -Gutenprint drivers are limited in function ( no ABW etc ) . Is anyone using gutenprint for ABW? Or is anyone using the Epson route v6.57 > 13113.dmg > 13044.dmg > Rosetta and found it fully functional with ABW?

Thanks Doug

The current Epson drivers work fine in Snow Leopard. You may need to install Rosetta (it should occur automatically in most cases), but beyond that everything works as it always has.

The common updater predates the current drivers and I have not applied it.

Please, forgive me for asking for a small verification. Have you installed the Epson driver (w/rosetta) for a R2400 printer and found the Advanced Black and White (ABW) working and none of the reported over dark prints?
Cheers,
Doug
