Eric & Wolfman, I've just posted my Dolomites photos in a new thread under the "Landscape Photography Locations" forum.  I'm pretty sure this trip counts as "most keepers per day" of any trip I've made!

Great! I'm out of town for a few days and the computer I'm at right now is not color calibrated, so I'm going to wait until I get home.

Hi,

I presume it's just statistics, but I got the impression that the few female posters on the forum are both well informed, technically competent and not least polite. A few male posters are ignorant and rude. Majority of posters are serious, knowledgeable and helpful.

Best regards
Erik

I am a woman and what I find oppressive is the gay baiting.  Those that do it show their ignorance by not even getting the vocabulary right.  The world is full of ignorant conservatives who believe that anyone who doesn't fit into their limited world view should be silenced.

Hi,

Sorry, it may be my english, but I don't get your point.

Anyway, what I mean is that the few female posters used to post good questions or good info. There are a few posters who are far less positive (in my view) and they used to be male.

Best regards
Erik

Pardon? I've been a fairly regular visitor here for years and haven't noticed any. Have you got LuLa mixed up with another forum perhaps?

Theresa, Is that because you're gay?

Not sure that's relevant as I, a straight fella, feel basically the same way. That said, her post was a bit harsh and out of the blue. Perhaps, as someone has suggested, Theresa meant to post this elsewhere. It's something I've done once or twice.

Chuck, I think it was a pertinent question. The point is, the lady's (I use the term advisedly) blast doesn't belong here. Here is where we talk about photography -- not politics.

I haven't noticed any gay-bashing here yet; however, I do dislike the gratuitous hijacking of what used to be a very comfortable English word which was once even part and parcel of the name of a famous regiment. Couldn't they just use the technical name and leave the rest of the world in peace? Perhaps the need was felt to use a euphemism, but surely a free one could have been invented?

Rob, Think that's bad? Try the once beautiful word, "fairy," or the once useful word "fagot," or the word my mother used to use all the time, "queer." I could go on, but I don't want to break down and cry. I love the English language and I hate to see it trashed. It's been trashed.

I believe that after a month, this thread could now easily degenerate into silliness or worse. Time to move on before it goes really sour.
