Hi all.
I just acquired CF-39MS instead of P45.

Worked very well and can focus easily with live-video. Thanks Dustbak.

I have to use my sinar DB shutter with CF-39MS (sinaron digital DB lenses..)

How to operate Multi-shot with mechanical press shutter ? like sinar DB shutter...

I use FOBA asaba stands, Hassy H1 lenses + sinar DB lenses.

H1 is not problem, but How to operate 4shot within press shutter type?

Thanks,

Congratulations with the CF39MS. A pretty amazing back that generates fantastic quality. Never tried it with press shutters not really investigated whether it really works. If I would try I would do as follows;

hookup the back with firewire, don't turn on Phocus, select 'flash sync' in the backs menu (menu, settings, camera). Turn on Phocus, select multishot and off you go. Phocus should wait for you to cock the shutter for each shot. Naturally if this all works.

Let me know if it does and how the results are. I typically never bought press shutters because of this (as well as being too lazy to try).

Your post is very helpful for me.

When turn on Phocus, I can't select multishot.

Can not 4shot with press shutter?

That would be my conclusion too.

I am fairly certain I saw someone mention somewhere he did use it but I might be mistaken. My memory is not what it used to be. Maybe ask on the Hasselblad Digital Forum ( http://www.hasselbladdigitalforum.com ), if it is possible I am sure someone will chime in with the how-to.

It is possible, but not as straight forward as using an electronic shutter.

First of all, without Phocus running, you need to set the CF back to 'Pinhole' Mode.  It is in the 'Camera' menu.

Next, connect up to your computer and start Phocus.  MultiShot mode will now be available.

The only way to capture a multi shot, is to then keep the lens open, and choose 'Capture' from Phocus.

IMPORTANT...

Before commencing the capture, the studio must be in complete darkness.  Therefore it is only possible to use flash in this method.

The flash must be connected to the flash out port on the CF back.

Hope that helps.

If you are using the Sinar mechanical shutter,
may I suggest you set it to "B" (bulb)
where I've found it offers the least vibration since the shutter is not being re-cocked.
The spring tension on the cable release also becomes buttery smooth.

The shutter will trigger the flash connected
and open and close the shutter as quickly as you press and release the cable release.

Hi David.

Can I use older SINAR digital shutter ? (Electronic control shutter...)

Please attach pictures...

and Item descriptions,
Sinar's advanced behind-the-lens shutter does not use conventional shutter leaves, but instead employs a two blade design for extremely precise and accurate exposures. The electronically controlled shutter speeds range from 1/500th to 80 seconds plus bulb, and include a double exposure lock that may be overridden and a flash sync that may be fired at the start or the end of a long exposure. In addition to these features you can add the Sinar Module II and the Sinarsix digital meter for total exposure control (these items are not included in the auction.) This shutter system will include (1) sync lead adapter, (1) 4 ft. shutter release and auto cable, (1) Digital Rail Battery Pack, (1) Rapid Battery Charger, and the Original cardboard with instruction manual. The Battery Pack features interior NiCd batteries that we cannot guarantee will still hold a charge but do pass power through to the Digital shutter. You can certainly use the Battery Pack as is OR have the batteries replaced.

Thanks,
