Wouldn't that make it very similar in price to the existing H3DII-31?
So... I guess we still won't have in-camera colour live view?

I won't be buying any MF products until they switch to CMOS and have REAL live-view on a high res LCD with 10x detail zoom.  Working like that on a view camera would be a dream.  No more sliding backs, yay.

My understanding is that CCD's still produce a better image.   I want better image quality when I shoot in studio or can take my time.  When I can't,  my solution has been to use the 5D2 which I take when I need high ISO or a light weight solution.  I prefer my Rollei with digital back for the best quality.  I don't expect to be able to have just one camera that meets all my needs.

Robert White in UK has been selling the H3d-II31 for £9,995 +VAT for quite a while so the list price of the H4D-40 £12,995 +VAT certainly is not any breakthrough.

( VAT is 'value added tax', a.k.a 'sales tax' which is 17.5%, to be added to purchase price unless your a tax register business)
