Hmm, the first one is definitely the more interesting for me. I'm curious about the shapes in the sand and the waves are interesting to a point. however, for me, the second one doesn't really do it. I think whats missing is a focus... not meaning something in focus, but rather something to focus my attention on.

I don't mean to be to harsh about it but the negative space doesn't really add value to the image because the positive space doesn't impact enough to warrant it.

However, having said that I would imagine that the actual print of the image in a large form would bring a different review. the 3d aspect of the waves on the shore would definitely pull me in more than a image on my monitor.
