Export is greyed out in Lightroom

Have a problem with not being able to export out of Lightroom.
The Export button does not work and Export is greyed out under  file.
Any suggestions?

Are you sure you actually have a file selected?

Otherwise, it would be useful to know your LR version and OS/CPU particulars...

Jeff,
Found the problem Had selected a file I wanted to export to my desk top from Library. Because I had not opened the develop module I did not see that it had the message that "the file is off and missing".  Thats the first time I saw the greyed out Export,just took a little time to figure it out.
