The blood moon of 14 June 2003
« on: June 15, 2003, 01:19:54 am »

I took this from my community park tonight with the Canon 10D, 300mmf2.8 with doubler.  The actual fstop I used is 6.3 at 1/10 of a second and asa 100.  Next time I am going to try asa 400 and f5.6

I wish I had a straight 600mm.  All lenses are Canon.

I also am considering a Meade schmidt Newtonian at f4.  There are several tecniques for astrophotography to be used with a telescope.

I waited two hours for the moon to come up.  I had more closer to the horizon, but atmospheric disturbances made the focus too soft as well as the exposure ended up being too short.  Next time I will use asa 400.
