CANON 1DS MK III
« on: January 04, 2010, 12:09:25 pm »

I have a Canon 1Ds Mk III. I have switched to Medium Format in the studio so it must go. I have all the original boxes, charger and everything it came with. Not a mark on it. Used in the studio only. Protective screens on all displays since new. Canon E-1 leather hand grip. Asking $3850 incl shipping in the USA.

If it is absolute mint that is a very fair price. You might have to hit the bay.

Is this a 1DS MKIII for 3800US? How many shutter releases? Seems really low to me.

I think you should ask around 5000.00 for it. That's really cheap. I mean what kind of shape is it in? If it's perfect, then 3800 is just an amazing price. I would buy that so fast if I were looking for a camera on that level. I already have a 1DS MKIII. I'm waiting for the 1DSMK IV.

I can't believe only 20 months ago I paid 8K for it.

1Ds mkIII's in slightly used condition are going for under $4000 at the moment dwadallam, I recently missed a 1Ds mkIII with 8K clicks, spare battery and L plate for $3950 including shipping from a very reputable seller. I assume the price is based on the expectation for a soon to be announced 1Ds mk4.

After I scoop up the 1DS MK IV I know what I'll be doing when the V comes out--waiting so the price drops like it is right now for the III. Geeze. 50% reduction in less than 2 years for me. That's worse than an automobile.

At that price, my MK III will make an excellent backup camera.

My 5D still hasn't depreciated that much (%), and it's three times as old.

That's a really good point. Plus Nikon kicked the 1DS MKIII full retail into the gutter.
