New 3880
« on: December 17, 2009, 09:28:30 pm »

I have just purchased and installed a 3880 Printer.  I have completed the instructions specified in the Start Up Sheet, loaded drivers and software etc. without problem.

My confusion is what next?  I expected that there would have next been instructions concerning what do when you first install the printer, such as print test sheet, do alignment, do nozzle check, check, adjust, and things like that, but there is nothing on the start Up sheet, nor the manual.

So am I ready to just start printing?  That just does not seem right (I am running XP-64 using USB connector to printer if that matters)

Thanks,

Andrew

Yeah ... just start printing.  Make sure ALL the tape has been removed.  The 3800 has dozens of them all over the place.

+1 on the tape. I could not believe where I found some of that stuff.

This link might be helpful, too. It's specifically for the 3800, but the basic workflow should be similar.

There are a LOT of settings buried in the various page setup and printer driver screens. The 3800 was my first digital printer, and it took me a while before I was at all happy with my results.

Happy printing.

You should perform nozzle & alignement tests and then start to print…
