Dave, I certainly know the sinking feeling you get when you find that the camera focal point isn't where you thought it was. But in this picture the psychological focus point is the girls. That winding yellow (gray actually) brick road leads directly to Dorothy and her buddy. It's a very good shot, actually helped by the flat light. The problem was with the setting of ISO 100 and f/4.0. When you're out on the street, remember, the street-photographer's motto: "f/8 and be there."
