I own a two year old Z3100 and am considering upgrading to a Z3200.
In spite of its accustomed quirks (lost profiles, crappy sheet feed, squirrelly driver, etc) my low mileage 3100 prints fine but the extended warranty is about to expire. I could purchase another warranty but after the current rebates/perks and the proceeds from my 3100 sale I could secure a new 3200 for $600-700 more vs $825 for another warranty.
After struggling through the early 3100's issues and as I'm a firm believer in leaving well-enough alone I'm wondering if there are any 3200 owners who migrated from a 3100 and can help with the upgrade decision.
My questions/concerns are:
1. Is there an appreciable difference between the two to warrant a flip?
2. Will I have to tweak my archived 3100 files due to the new Vivid Red? I've heard that the wider gamut is negligible.
3. Has the ability to load sheets improved on the 3200? This improvement alone would warrant a flip!
4. Will the APS work on the 3200 as it was originally designed, i.e. retaining profiles?
5. Is my current 3100 (Mac) driver the same as the 3200 version?
6. Any recurring issues/quirks with the 3200?

1. On color printing the better gamut is substantial. It has shifted to what Epson users were used to, not just the red but the other ones improved in the darker colors. For Black and White there is no gain. For color I select the Z3200 now.
2. Yes, if you do not want to use the new gamut fully. I had to adapt several files, in other cases the new prints are better
3. There´s a direct choice between Skew Check and No Skew Check at loading, nothing else changed.
4. The optional APS will work like it does on the Z3100 but slightly improved with another color engine. There´s a bug on loading the profile to the printer and a solution to get that right too. Reported to HP.
The integrated Color Center software which I think you mean is much better than on the Z3100.
The be honest I use the last more often now than APS.
5. No Mac here. Little has changed on the Windows version.
6. Similar issues, possibly some solved and other ones appeared.
