Epson Scan Software / V750
« on: December 10, 2009, 01:42:27 pm »

why do my film scans on the v750 come into photoshop in SRGB.  I can't seem to find a profile setting in the epson scan software.  Does anyone know how to make them come into photoshop in a larger color space?
Thanks,
JP

Make sure you are in Professional Mode. Then: Configuration>Color>ICM>Target>Adobe RGB. Set your File Save settings (lower right corner button with the File Folder icon) to "TIFF".

If you want a wider color space than Adobe RGB, looks to me like you should be using a more comprehensive scanning application, such as SilverFast Ai.

Weird, I do have the target set to Adobe RGB , but it still comes into photoshop is srgb.

Yes I am familiar with the advantages of silverfast, but we don't have it on my work computer and this flatbed scanning is for work.  I drum scan all of my personal stuff myself.

Thanks for the responses.

True, and it does provide a full range of colour space choices for input and output.

Have you checked your color settings in Photoshop? If your preferences are set to convert to sRGB it won't matter what your scanner settings are.
