Handicaped Landscape Photography
« on: December 04, 2009, 12:30:17 pm »

I recently developed Morton's Neuroma on both of my feet. I can get around but not for long periods. My question is to other photographers who also have limiting physical situations: How have you adapted your ability to do landscape photography?

My wife and I are booked in February for a week in Sydney and and a week in Melbourne, and had originally hoped to do our usual hiking. Any recommendations on how best to approach new landscape locations with physical issues??

Thanks for any help.

Hi

In your situation, I would think of biking, kayaking and horse riding.

Kind regards - Hening.

Jerry:  This may be OT, but it might offer some perspective...  An old friend of mine (now retired), used to work with people with mental challenges.  One day she was at a conference and she came across a woman in a wheelchair.  This woman had next to no mobility at all, to the point that her wheelchair rocked back and forth to alleviate the possibility of bedsores.  At the same time, she was a very strong, upbeat woman, and my friend asked her if she would be interested in joining the disabled women's network.  "But I'm not disabled," was her reply.  "I can do everything I want to do."
