Strange lines on epson 9880 output-Help

I have this feathered crackly lines on the quarter inch  left side of my output as you face the machine- vertical line on side edge.- roll paper.  It is consistent between rolls ordered at different times- so media inconsistency is not the problem.

Any one ever have this problem or can suggest the solution?
