Last one from Tibet, I promise...
« on: November 20, 2009, 12:58:23 pm »

Ok here's one more pic I'll post from my trip. It was taken while hitchhiking. I like the idea of "the open road," especially when its coupled with such a dramatic change in scenery. I am pretty bad with landscape shots so I'm not sure any of that actually came through in this picture.....

Ish, Looks to me as if it came through just fine. The only thing I see that might be a problem is that it looks a bit over-sharpened to me, but it's almost impossible to tell from a small image on a 72ppi monitor. Good shooting.

And I like it too. Normally road views dont do much for me, but this is just gorgeous.

Why the last one? You sound almost apologetic... no need to be, I assure you.  All the images of your Tibet trip which you have posted are in the range pretty good to outstanding, including this one.  Please post some more.

I agree with Russ about the oversharpening though, both for this and most of the others; you might want to tone it down a bit in this regard.

Excellent shot. The light and the composition are very nice, but the really outstanding part for me is the combination of the subtle blues in the mountains against the more vibrant, luminescent yellows of the foreground. It's a beautiful combination that also comes off as totally natural... it gives me the sense of actually being there... it evokes senses beyond vision... at the risk of sounding crazy, I can almost smell this scene.

So yeah, I like it. Wish I could see a print.

The colors are stunning, the gold is particularly lovely and not so common.  Well done.

well first of all I'm thrilled to hear that people like these shots. secondly, the oversharpening is because I have been trying to compensate for Facebook's terrible compression algorithm with smart sharpen (clearly too much)....but now I've gone back and re-edited the other photos
