Is there a way to move images around in the Library mode so that I have images in the order I want to see them, rather than capture time, color code, flagged, rating?  In Iview I can just drag a picture from one spot to another but I cannot find that capability in Lightroom.

At the bottom of the screen. Sort popup, set it to User Order and drag the images as you desire. Note, not accessible in Smart Collections.

The easiest way is to select the images and put them into a Collection (not a Smart Collection but a regular Collection).  Then you can move them around any way you want.  You can also move them if you are on the last subfolder of the file tree on the left panel.  I think with either, you need to be in the Library module for this to work.
