Threw away upc cod by mistake.
« on: November 14, 2009, 11:19:11 am »

This could be an expensive day if Epson will not approve my rebate with no UPC code.
The rebates a $1,000 on my Epson 9900 and it only hit me now as I downloaded and read the rebate form. Receipt no problem but the large cardboard wrapping that the UPC code was probably attached to is long gone. Called the dealer and he said he will put a call in for me,but no promises. How could I be such a lame brain.
You all know how the rebate handlers look for any reason not to pay. Anyone have any suggestions rather then going through the landfill?

Pour some Marker's Mark bourbon on ice and drink, repeat process until you forget your mistake. Good luck.

Your selling dealer should be able to help you resolve the rebate issue. It has not been our experience that the Rebate Center "look for any reason not to pay". Have you had a bad experience with Epson in the past?

Randy,You are the selling dealer. I called the seller who is Allen from Allens Camera in Levittown, expect a call from him on Monday.
Dan

Ps. Maybe you could give Jim the heads up Monday morning  that Allen will be calling. No troubles with Epson in the past but getting rebate checks is just like pulling teeth sometimes. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I had a similar situation because I unpacked at the UPS mailbox & sent all the cardboard to the dump. I called the the store from which I ordered, & even thought they did not ship it(it was shipped from Epson) I was sent a copy of the UPC code by e-mail, used it & received the rebate.

I sent my rebates to Epsom 5 weeks ago and just call them anD they said the 500$ rebate was rejected! But they can't tell me why
the 300$ rebate is missing in action!
Very dissapointing
the only reason I got Epsom 4880 and not a canon 24 inch printer are the rebates

Gotta love attics and garages. I keep every box I get. I even scanned in my UPC code before mailing it.
Looking for $300 for a 3800.

Hope you get it resolved.

Dan I did the same thing but epson waived the upc code from the box as a requirement and it was something they were not enforcing with me or anyone else. This was during the 500 dollar rebate and might not be the same with the 1000 dollar rebate. You need to call them and get the heads up.

Dan,
Your problem is being addressed and there should be no issue with your rebate.

I did the same thing... well... the guys I hired to help me unpack and move the printer in to the store threw  the box away and, of course, the next day was trash day so that was that.
I called Jason at Shades of Paper where I bought it and tho it took a bit of poking of Epson, we finally got my rebate.

Jason ... the best there is!!

Sorry, Randy... I'm sure you are, also!!

I actually had a simlar situation with B&H "white glove" service
They were very efficient in removing EVERYTHING including pallet and cover and UPC code! of a 7900
$500 at stake

I just copied every bar code I could find related to the 7900  manual, covers, LOTs of others around.
Maybe they didn't check? maybe they didnt care but somehow, I got the chevck, and pretty quickly (4-5 weeks if I remember)

I do think Epson would lose more, and they likely know it. However with an external center they need some fraud protection.
Hope it all works out
Regards
