Nikon D100 converted to UVIR
« on: November 10, 2009, 01:31:59 pm »

Hi all,
I'm going to buy a second hand camera body to be modified for IR/UV shots. I was thinking to an "old" D100 rather than another D70s which I own already. Would you suggest me to get the D70s instead? I've been told D100 suffers of a lot of noise even at small ISO values, and that it shows a "darkening" (sorry I don't know the exact english term) of corners of the picture, how is it possible? isn't the CCD frame omogeneous?
Another question, does anybody knows the exact domensions and thickness of the IR cut filter I'm going to remove? I would like to replace it with a neutral one in order not to have focusing problems. Any further suggestion is very well accepted.

regards
