C1 Pro v5 how to migrate 4.5 settings
« on: October 31, 2009, 08:44:33 pm »

This is also posted in the "other raw processors" forum.

I recently upgraded to Capture one Pro 5.0 from 4.8. The new version creates a new settings directory and does not refer to the prior 4.5 directory with all the settings from pevious work. I hope I am missing something simple, but how can we transfer the settings forward. I have a huge amount of work in adjusments to my images and it would be absurd to have to redo this work.
I use a Phaseone P45+ so Phase, I hope you can help.

Again, i hope it is my bad for not seeing some basic setting so that I can reference my prior settings in the new programs.

thanks, John

Short answer

When you first browse to a folder containing images adjusted in 4.X the new version will COPY those settings into into  in a Setting50 folder. All your adjustments and rating should be preserved, moreover the Settings45 folder remains in case you want or need to go back to version 4.

If for some reason that's not happening for you then you're experiencing a bug - start a support case or talk to your dealer.
