Tecco Paper
« on: October 29, 2009, 07:43:52 am »

Hi all,

I was looking round the shops today and I came across some photo paper made by a German company, Tecco.  They have a 270gsm Baryt and a 285gsm Luster.  I was wondering if anyone has tried these papers out, and if so what they think of them?  I would use them in my HP9180.  Is see from Tecco's website that they do have 9180 profiles for these papers.

Answer to obvious question #1 (why don't you just buy a pack and try?): Well I may do, but the paper is damn expensive (about $150 equivalent for a pack of 25 A3 sheets of the Baryt).  Everything in Kenya is at least 50% more expensive than in Europe.

Answer to obvious question #2 (why don't you stick with stuff which is tried and tested, HP paper, Hahnemule, Ilford etc?).  Unfortunately, these are unobtainable in Kenya.  Ordering through Amazon etc is an option but a costly one (freight) and risky (it may vanish into a black hole in customs).  So I take what I can get!

Thanks
