Wireless R2880??
« on: October 28, 2009, 12:21:37 pm »

Has anyone had any experience operating an R2880 via a Mac with a wireless connection?  Do anyone know whether this is a reasonable option?
Thanks

Yes and with 3800...airport express has both enet and usb connectors to run as printer port. Works well with Image Print
even with dongle protection. Printers show up seamlessly and find drivers without problem. I recommend the newer N style
100mb wireless airports. Of course everything runs better with airport extreme base station as it will talk to the express boxes, download
new firmware automatically and prompt you to upgrade which again is transparent wireless event.

I'm also using an airport express.  Extend your wireless network via another Airport base station or airport Express, then plug the printer into that using ethernet.

Using the USB connection into the Airport from the printer doesn't work ... you can't access the specialized menus for the printer driver.  But using ethernet works great.
