Canon 1D MKIV with 6400 iso

Congratulations, use it for a long time. The only fly in the ointment is that you mix the purpose of the 2 camera categories. An old tired jokes says: if someone has only a hammer he tends to consider everyrhing as nails :-)
Best regards

There is something else to low ISO besides the different exposure needs...

Impressive performance by the MKIV BTW!

How is this a blow to Medium Format?  I don't think there is a photographer on this site who chooses Medium Format for it's high ISO capabilities or for video.  MF is shot by photographers who value their work and the images they give their clients.  Period.

I am a bit puzzled by this comment. What in the world does the 1D have to do with a MF camera?  Not designed for the same purpose at all.

Now if Canon comes out with a low noise 40MP 1Ds, then I could see your point. I just hope Leica is ready for that!

I find this thread silly as well. It's like saying "When is my $1000 Tods shoes going to give me the comfort my Nike Air gives me when playing Basket Ball".

This statement only makes sense if you have never shot a MF camera or viewed a medium format file vs even the largest DLSR file.  Either way, it is wrong and uninformed.
