Canon IPF5000 Color Problems
« on: October 18, 2009, 09:19:45 am »

Last week I was finally able to get the Snow Leopard print driver for the Canon IPF5000.
For some reason colors no longer match the monitor in most cases with prints.
This is even with the monitor being calibrated (Apple LCD with Macbook Pro 2.66).
Yellows look more orange then yellow.
Have tried printing from both Lightroom 2.5 (64 bit) and Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1) with and without the Canon plug-in.
Yes, it is set to manage by program (Photoshop or Lightroom).
If I use the Canon plug-in the colors are even worse.
Never really had this much of a problem until Snow Leopard.
Paper being used is the Ilford Gold Fiber Silk

Any idea what maybe be happening?

You have to download and install the latest media configuration tool that will update the paper profiles for Snow Leopard.

Jerry,

Thanks for the input.

I did down load it but not sure if was ever installed correctly.
So I opened it up and clicked on "Update Media Types" which I assume I needed to do.
It seems like it did communicate with the printer as when I clicked on it the printer came on and it must of did some changes.
Will do some test prints now to see if this helps.
