Please explain the PhaseOne situation with regards to new lenses. I read this thread:
http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....c=38200&hl=
and I could not understand if PhaseOne promised new lenses and now they are delivering them but only to customers who purchase their new 645DF – true? I find that hard to believe. Please explain.
Also, what has caused the delays with new the PhaseOne lenses? Is it design related?
Has it been a long delay?
Aren’t lenses available for the PhaseOne camera now? Why can’t photographers use these lenses?
I’m not a PhaseOne customer, but I often see threads about Hasselblad created by forum members that state they will not purchase Hasselblad – so I figured it’d be ok to inquire in a new thread.
Thanks in advance for explaining.
Kind regards,

You may want to read the press releases. Check out LL's What's New page, Michael has a link for the new body and lenses.
Also this thread is probably more informative ...
http://luminous-landscape.com/forum/index....showtopic=37987They appear to be a cooperative effort between Mamiya, PhaseOne, and Schneider. One big difference is the inclusion of a leaf shutter, which is not supported in current Mamiya cameras (including the PhaseOne version of the Mamiya AFD3), thus a newly designed camera body. I was surprised the lenses don't work on the older bodies, just without the ability of using the shutter. I assume to engineer this was either impossible or would compromise the lens design in some way. (or maybe they will?)
I don't think there is any delay. I know PhaseOne has mentioned working very closely with Mamiya to improve the underlying camera system and technology, this seems to be one step, but I haven't seen anything promised. Additionally it appears those that purchased a new PhaseOne camera recently will be provided with an upgrade path if they choose ... something I haven't seen before. I hope this is true since I've had my PhaseOne camera for only a couple of months now.
Personally I'm more interested if any other features have been improved, like having more flexibility when auto bracketing and improved shutter delay when using mirror lockup mode.
